In this Quick Tech video I share my simple jig for holding potentiometer shafts in a vice so they can be accurately shortened. This is so your guitar knobs sit neatly and almost flush with the finish. I use scrap wood and some pieces of veneer joined with super glue and CA accelerator. I've made one for 1/4" shafts, and one for split shafts.
