Brought to you by the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons. The fascia lata autologous transobturator midurethral sling procedure is a novel surgical approach to treat patients with stress urinary incontinence who are either poor candidates for mesh-based repairs or who want to avoid the risks of a synthetic mesh implant. It offers a minimally invasive approach to fascia harvest and sling insertion, with the potential to decrease the voiding dysfunction seen with retropubic and pubovaginal slings. This video demonstrates the use of a Crawford fascia stripper, a well-established instrument not commonly used in gynecologic surgery. The passage of the autologous sling is similar to that with mesh sling kit approaches.
