I recently found an old Edison Standard Phonograph model A in an antique shop. Remarkably the spring motor still worked. In this video I rebuild the reproducer, and add a new leather belt to get the thing working again! In the second part of the video I demonstrate how it works, and play a music cylinder for you. It's remarkable that this machine is 150+ years old and and still works. It's a beautiful bit of engineering.
