One of my two classes was cancelled, so I had a free morning and an afternoon to do some Plant City railfanning. I no sooner arrived at N. Palmer street when this freight train coming from Tampa showed its face, so I quickly pulled over and began filming.
Train 1:
8:40 AM
N. Palmer street
CSX 7925, CSX 7781
65 cars
Then I headed to my usual spot and got this local headed south, and where I filmed the rest of my catches.
Location: Between Reynolds st. and the Diamonds
8:55 AM
CSXT Shove platform #900033
CSX 4316 GP39-2
4 cars
I had to go back to USF, then returned about 12:30pm and caught this coal train about an hour later. At first I thought that it possibly could have been N036 returning north, a recently reinstated coal drag to the Brooksville cemex plant, but I learned that N036 was still up at Brooksville during this time, so it wasnt him but a T-train from big bend instead. But this train had an awesome lash up, with #454, the "spirit of magnolia" leading.
1:15 PM
CSX 454 "Spirit of Magnolia", CSX 979, CSX 8361 SD40-2?
106 cars
1:40 PM
Amtrak P091
Amtrak 194, Amtrak 16
9 cars
2:06 PM
CSX O825
CSX 4310 GP39-2, CSX 4300 GP39-2
35 cars
Note: Im not sure if you can make it out in the video, but either a crew member or someone else wrote "Wash Me" on the side of #4300 right behind the rear cab door under the grill on the unit's right hand side. Thought it was funny!
