So my Dad was basically Jesus? A story about DNA Results, Adoption, Jewish Ancestry, Dementia, and Breast Cancer. My father was born in Brooklyn, NY and adopted by my grandparents shortly after. He eventually became an evangelical minister but was always obsessed with Israel and Jewish Culture after studying there for a year in college. After taking 3 DNA tests (Ancestry DNA, 23andMe & Family Tree DNA) I found out we have Jewish Heritage. It turns out my father was a man of Jewish Ancestry, of uncertain parentage, a preacher and a Carpenter (okay a stretch) from Nazareth (Pennsylvania)… Unfortunately my dad will never know because today he suffers from dementia.
In this video I explain the entire story of how my father was adopted by two of the greatest humans I’ve ever known and my father’s dream to start a church in a small town. It didn’t exactly go as he’d planned. The Grimes family has been through a lot over the last 10 years. I did my best to make the story concise.
In the next video our search for my father’s biological family continues.
