Late last week, the federal government met with Indigenous leaders to talk about systemic racism in the health care system -- after an Indigenous woman was subjected to degrading racist comments as she lay dying in a Quebec hospital late last month.

West Block host Mercedes Stephenson speaks with National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations Perry Bellegarde about the meeting and the next steps to fix the problem.

Chief Bellegarde also addresses what needs to be done to resolve a worsening dispute between Indigenous and non-Indigenous fishers on the east coast.
