Parts of the Eastern Cape saw the first snow of the year as the cold front passed through the country. On Monday some Eastern Cape roads were closed due to snow and icy conditions. But the clouds have moved on and the sun is out. Roads are still wet and slippery in places as the snow melts. But it remains bitterly cold, especially on the high ground and mountain tops remain blanketed in snow. The hamlet of Hogsback regularly gets snow in winter, and yesterday was their first.
