Helping Olgierd escape his pact with Gaunter O’Dimm is generally seen as the best ending to the Hearts of Stone expansion in the Witcher 3. Olgierd is a tragic and tortured figure who has paid dearly as a result of his ill-fated deal with Master Mirror. And Geralt can play the role of a hero by quite literally saving his soul.
But should he do it? While Olgierd’s situation is certainly lamentable, there are a lot of compelling reasons why we shouldn’t intervene to save him.
