Paris - 21 March 2016
1. Maureen Roussel, president of victims' group Life for Paris, and Caroline Langlade, vice-president of Life for Paris, both survivors of the Bataclan attack, coming out of Elysee palace
2. SOUNDBITE (French) Caroline Langlade, vice-president of Life for Paris and survivor of the Bataclan attack:
"We've asked the President of the Republic that the new ministry (in charge of "helping victims") is kept in the long term. It is a priority for us because the (psychological) reconstruction, recovering the life we had (before the attacks) as much as it is possible to do so, will take a long time. We know it. So we really need this partnership (with the ministry in charge of "helping victims") over the long term."
3. Georges Salines, President of victims association "13 Novembre : fraternité et vérité" and father of a victim killed in the Bataclan attack, and lawyer Jean Reinhart walking towards microphone
4. SOUNDBITE (French) Georges Salines, President of victims association "13 Novembre : fraternité et vérité" and father of a victim killed in the Bataclan attack:
"He (Francois Hollande) totally agrees with us on the fact that the security measures are essential – it is necessary to increase the security level – but that is not what will provide a safeguard in the long-term against the terrorist risk."

6. SOUNDBITE (French) Georges Salines, President of victims association "13 Novembre : fraternité et vérité" and father of a victim killed in the Bataclan attack:

8. SOUNDBITE (French) Jean Reinhart, lawyer representing victims of November 13th Paris attacks:
"Now, we have at least one perpetrator of the attacks (referring to the arrest of Salah Abdeslam). A judicial process is starting now, it's starting in Belgium and it will carry on in a tribunal in Paris. The extradition might take a week, two weeks, three months maximum, it doesn't matter, he will be extradited, And then we - the victims' associations, parents of victims, lawyers - will have the possibility to ask him questions. So what is happening is remarkable because at least we will have a trial with someone seated in the chair of the accused, someone who is responsible for these attacks."
9. Reinhart leaving
STORYLINE:
Paris attacks victims' associations called on Monday for better support from the French state, including extensive coverage of medical and judicial expenses and a more coordinated system to help the victims and their entourage.
The groups, which represent the 130 victims of the 13 November attacks and their families, met with French President Francois Hollande on Monday at the Elysee palace in Paris.
The groups, predicting more attacks, want the government to have a more coordinated system to help victims of terrorism in the immediate aftermath of attacks and over the long term.
Some have lamented chaotic conditions on 13 November and in the following days, when family members struggled to find out if their loved ones were dead or alive, and where they were.
Juliette Meadel is the junior minister put in charge of "helping victims," as a result of last year's deadly attacks in Paris, according to the French president's office,
