The discovery of a bone at a parking garage construction site for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has prompted an investigation by the Shelby County medical examiner and Memphis police.
A Memphis archeologist told Action News 5 that the remains that were found Tuesday are most likely human since the construction site sits on the former New Winchester Burying Ground, one of the city’s first cemeteries dating back to 1828.
