According to American government officials Russia planned an assassination of the Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger to weaken the defense-industrial complex of Europe, scare other defense production managers and halt defense support for Ukraine during its war against Russia itself. Such attacks and attempts to disrupt European unity and bring chaos in might even be cases for enacting Article 5, as said in NATO. For example, a mass cyber attack with physical consequences can be qualified as aggression.
