With the unveiling of Samsung Galaxy Note5, all rumors came to a stop. The real specifications are here and let’s take a look at what has been added and what has been removed from its predecessor, the popular Galaxy Note 4.
The first thing that was noticed was the difference in their naming format. It seems that Samsung has merged the two words Note and 5 to ‘Note5’unlike its predecessor which had the format ‘Note 4’. When we take a look at the Galaxy Note 4, we can see that it has a removable back, SD card slot but Samsung has removed these features from the Note 5 which can be a bad news for some of you out there. The main reason for this is that the Note 5’s design closely follows the Galaxy S6 smartphone which also lack these features.
The weight of Samsung Note 5 is around 5g less than the Note 4 and is thinner by around 1mm. It also comes straight out of the box with the latest Android OS version, Android v5.1.1 Lollipop installed. The smartphone occupies the same chipset as the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, Exynos 7420 instead of the Snapdragon found in Note 4.
Note 5 also comes with a new Mali GPU and a 4GB RAM. But the chance of the 4GB RAM making a huge difference over the 3GB RAM of Note 4 is unlikely. When coming to the camera, the rear camera is similar to Note 4 but is expected to have better quality while the front cam has gone up to 5MP from the 3.7MP, which might be a good news for our selfie fans.
If you are already disappointed with the device, wait till I get to the major letdown. The Note5 has only 3000mAh battery making the exciting rumor of a 4000mAh battery false. This is even less than what was available in the Note4 (3220mAh). With the good things and bad things that were reviewed, it won’t come as a surprise if you have mixed feelings about this new addition to the Note series.
