As part of Big Cat Week, Chris Packham talks to National Geographic’s Explorers at Large, Dereck and Beverly Joubert, who share their experience in filming their latest documentary, Jade Eyed Leopard, passion for leopards and other big cats. They also stress the importance of raising awareness of big cat protection and how everyone can help in protecting them.

Dereck and Beverly Joubert are National Geographic Explorers at Large, wildlife conservationists and award-winning filmmakers, who have been filming, researching and exploring in Africa for over 35 years. Their mission is to shed light on the conservation and understanding of the large predators and other key wildlife species under threat in Africa. The Joubert’s have made over 35 films for National Geographic and have written many articles for the magazine. Their latest documentary, Jade Eyed Leopard, follows the story of Toto, the leopard cub, for the first years of her life as she learns fundamental survival skills. TV presenter, Chris Packham, is an activist for wildlife conservation issues and injustice. He organised the UK’s first march for wildlife and has guest edited the UK edition of the National Geographic Magazine in August 2018. He’s also an author of a #1 bestseller book in The Sunday Times, Back to Nature, and has featured on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
