Jean Boht was an English actress, most famous for the role of Nellie Boswell in Carla Lane's sitcom Bread, remaining one of several actors to remain with the series for its entire 7 season tenure from 1986 to 1991.
She died yesterday. Her birthday was last March (6th).
She passed away just over a month after her husband, composer Carl Davis CBE (October 28, 1936 – August 3, 2023) who was an American-born British conductor and composer died aged 86. He wrote music for more than 100 television programmes (notably the landmark ITV series World At War (1973) and BBC's Pride and Prejudice (1995), created new scores for concert and cinema performances of vintage silent movies and composed many film, ballet and concert scores that were performed worldwide, including (in collaboration with Paul McCartney) the Liverpool Oratorio in 1991. Davis's publisher was Faber Music. Carl and Jean married on 28th December 1970 (CE).
