Ray Davies said: "a defining moment of inspiration came once again via a film, this time when Low Light And Blue Smoke, a 1956 Belgian documentary about American country blues man Big Bill Broonzy, was televised."

"Big Bill," Muddy Waters recalled in an interview, "that's the nicest guy I ever met in my life. He first say I had it. I guess he was the cause of me going to England the first time, you see... He told 'em, "You ain't heard nothin' till you hear that young boy from Mississippi... . It's young Muddy Waters from Clarksdale, Mississippi. You gotta get him over here."
"When I was about 14, I saw Big Bill Broonzy on TV and that was an incredible thing", Eric Clapton
Memphis Slim called Bill "the greatest that I have known. There may have been some better, but I didn't know them. He was a wonderful person and a lovely artist."
If any videos get blocked I tend to post them on my other social media platforms, so have a look if you don't want to miss anything! All links are here: [ Ссылка ]
