This town, Unomachi, is in the southwestern part of Ehime Prefecture, Japan.
This town flourished during the Edo period as a distribution center for crops and lumber and as an inn town.
The area that was once the center of the city still retains its old streetscapes and has been selected by the government as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings.
