Presented by: Daren K. Heyland, MD
This program presented on October 25, 2018 identifies large RCTs that may have contributed to the confusion around full vs. trophic feeds in the ICU patient and explains why these large RCTs should be reviewed closely before changing practice. Dr. Heyland shares his research with protein delivery demonstrating positive outcomes at 80% of estimated protein needs as the ideal amount and reviews the PEPuP protocol as an example of how to improve enteral nutrition delivery in the ICU.
