I took the ol' FLSTN for a ride up to the top of Lookout Mountain - the final resting place of William Frederick "Buffalo Bill" Cody. There is a conspiracy theory that Buffalo Bill isn't buried in Colorado. The legend goes that some folks from Wyoming snuck into the funeral home, switched Bill's body with a look-alike imposter and buried him in the Cowboy State. In the first draft of Cody's will he stated he wanted to be buried outside of the town he founded - Cody, Wyoming. But, in an updated will he had specified that he wanted to be buried at the top of Lookout Mountain. Photographic evidence exists that Buffalo Bill was in fact buried atop Lookout Mountain in June of 1917. In the 1920's Cody's foster son, Johnny Baker, disinterred the body and had it reburied at the same site under tons of concrete to prevent theft. The story takes a weird turn in 1948. The American Legion in Cody, Wyoming offered a $10,000 reward to anyone who could disinter the body and return it to Wyoming. The Colorado National Guard placed officers to keep an eye on the grave site. What do you Think?
