Northern Gannets seem like pterodactyls flying past the foggy Atlantic crags. Amazingly left with his sight after being mugged by three neighbors, one bird will forever be cautious in leaving his assigned territory. The seabird reserve at Cape St. Mary's, Newfoundland allows visitors to reach cliffs, separated from, but within feet of nesting gannets. Here one can photograph or film gannets, murres, and kittiwakes and be lost in the air and sound of a high seabird rookery, as ravens dive in, snatch eggs and create pandimonium. You can shoot gannet video until the fog rolls in and covers everything. Then being lost on the grassy moor with only sheep for friends is a real possibliity. Cape St. Mary's, Newfoundland is arguably the foggiest spot on earth. The Titanic hit its iceberg and sank in a Newfoundland fog.
