This record takes place on the Nurburgring but it’s not for speed. BMW is attempting to reclaim their title of the Longest Vehicle drift in the Guinness World Record book. To break the record the driver of the M5 will have to see how far they can get while lapping the famous track for 8 hours...all while being sideways the whole time.
And instead of stopping to fill up or use a bigger fuel tank, AutoBlog reports BMW is going to attempt car-to-car fueling while both cars are mid-drift. So while the car attempting the record continues, a supply car with a guy hanging out the back window transfers around 15 gallons of gas. You can’t accuse BMW of taking the easy way out on this one!
