Casey Meraz: If you don't have a 10 on Avvo, you're a bad lawyer. We know that's not true, Avvo is a proprietary system on this arbitrary score. The funny thing is your clients may not know that score is BS. Okay. They might be turning to Avvo and see that score and make their impression of you based off of it. So it is important to have an optimized Avvo profile and get that 10 score, so whether they find you on Google search or they find you on Avvo, that you look like the authority, you have that 10 score. If you're looking to optimize your Avvo profile, I think the number one thing you have to do is complete it a hundred percent. I know a lot of those fields are just stupid and not really even relevant in some cases to some of your clients. But putting the past results, putting all of these bar associations that you have, even if it's just like the most irrelevant thing. Fill out your profile until that profile completion score says 100%. Next, what you really need are peer review endorsements, right?
So other attorneys that you've worked with in the past, or that you've been on a case with, they can endorse you and that endorsement will act as a point basically to up your Avvo score. So that's a big one. I think case results need to go in there as well that can definitely help your overall score. But a lot of it, the algorithm today in 2021 seems to be based on experience. So if you're a new lawyer and you've done all this stuff and you don't have reviews and you don't have these endorsements, you're going to have a lot harder time getting that score up to 10 than somebody that's been around for a long time.
