Macarons are not only hard to make, they are EXPENSIVE! So after spending both time and money on a batch, it can feel really awful if something goes wrong.
Instead of tossing them in the trash, I've been playing with different ways to repurpose those failed shells so nothing ends up being thrown away!

3/4 cup walnuts, toasted

1 T vanilla
1 1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup macaron shell pieces
- Cream the butter and sugar together, then add in the egg.

- Add in the oats, chocolate and nuts, and mix until only just combined.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes then scoop into balls. I like to use a small ice cream scoop.
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F
- Bake for about 12-15 minutes, depending on how crispy you like your cookies!
