Thirty odd minutes of horror, exploitation and mondo trailers.
Palace Explosive Video was an Australian home video label that existed for a few years from 1984. It released some notorious titles, akin to what could best be described as "video nasties". A total of 39 were released. Some of these were also released in New Zealand.
Not all the films they released had trailers, but these are the ones that were most commonly promoted on their tapes.
This video is as follows:
* Madman
* Splatter University
* The House on Sorority Row
* I Spit On Your Grave (aka: Day of the Woman)
* Rape Squad (aka: Act of Vengeance)
* Rape Squad (aka: Ms 45, Angel of Vengeance) [EDITED]
* Scarred [EDITED]
* The Slayer
* The Dark
* The Beyond
* Night of the Zombies (aka: Virus, Hell of the Living Dead, etc)
* Cannibal Apocalypse (aka: Invasion of the Flesh Hunters, Cannibals in the Streets) [EDITED]
* Creepers (aka: Phenomena)
* "Stay Watching for Further Previews" promo advice
* The Evictors
* Trapped (aka: Baker County U.S.A.)
* Shivers (aka: They Came from Within)
* Squirm
* Rats: Night of Terror
* Bloodsucking Freaks (aka: The Incredible Torture Show) [EDITED]
* The Killing of America
* Savage Man Savage Beast
* This Violent World [EDITED]
Some of these trailers had to be EDITED to comply with strict YouTube community guidelines in relation to nudity and sexual content. Where this has occurred I have noted it. I'm very sorry about this. But if I did not edit it out, this video would probably be taken down. I would rather you saw something rather than nothing at all.
Some facts to note:
~ Trailers that were in 16:9 or 14:9 letterbox format have had their ratios stretched out to fit the screen better.
~ The film Ms. 45 (promoted here as Rape Squad) was never released by the label. It was instead released under the title 'Angel of Vengeance' on Warner Home Video in a censored form.
~ The mondo film 'Sweet and Savage' was promoted in trade and video magazines as a pending release on the Explosive label. But it did not end up getting released by Palace. It was instead released later on, by the Premiere label (a division of Village Roadshow) in a censored form. The film in its uncut form was originally banned by the censor's office at the time, causing a delay in its release. A teaser trailer for the film was made, however. But it only appeared on some R-rated Premiere and Village Roadshow releases, and never on a Palace Explosive release.
~ Other films promoted by Palace Explosive in print form, but not released on the label include Blood Theatre (released on Palace Films), Tenebrae (Palace Films), Empire of the Ants (Roadshow Home Video), and The Brides Wore Blood (not apparently released at all).
~ Palace Explosive Video intended to release the 'H.G. Lewis Blood Trilogy', being Blood Feast, 2000 Maniacs, and Color Me Blood Red, with all three being promoted in written promo material as well. But the film Color Me Blood Red was unfortunately banned by the Australian censors at the time. It was never submitted back to the censors in a cut version, and remained unreleased until 2005 when it passed uncut and then issued on DVD. The other two were passed uncut at the time though, and were released on home video by the label.
Other titles released on the Palace Explosive label (with some lacking promoted trailers) included:
* Carnival of Blood
* The Curse of the Screaming Dead
* Satan's Blade
* Schizo
* Toxic Zombies
* 2000 Maniacs
* Blood Feast
* Escape from the Insane Asylum
* Evil in the Woods
* Evil Laugh
* Dario Argento's World of Horror
* Dances, Sacred and Profane
* Mayhem
* Mindstalk
* Epitaph
* LA Crackdown
