This was my first freestyle of the night so it was kind of a warm up!

FREESTYLE ROULETTE:

1. pick a song you've never heard before (this song was suggested in response to my posts on Insta! [ Ссылка ])

2. freestyle to it without hearing it first

This one features:
Francis ang the Lights
"May I have this Dance"

This freestyle was the first time I'd heard this song, and I love it now!

I asked for song requests on my IG Story and chose the songs I'd never heard before- thank you for all the suggestions!

I do a version of this in my intensives- I guide the students on several variables, including playing to the camera, turning it into "industry" freestyle that is bookable, and expanding their vocabulary so they can avoid repetitive, generic movement.

My version here is simply for fun! Out of the hundreds of dancers who have taken my intensives, almost all have been afraid of freestyling and I felt their pain! I am NOT a freestyler and decided to walk the walk by giving myself this challenge.

BONUS POINTS: 2. Give yourself a parameter. Here are some examples:

- your hands are paintbrushes painting on the air
- the floor is covered in sand
- you're a character who is covered in tattoos, shaved head, gold teeth
- a different body part initiates each movement (what if you lead from your elbow? your hip? your collar bone?)
- the opposite of your comfort zone (If you're usually feminine, be masculine. If you're usually hard-hitting, be soft and still)
