Depending on the job and material, you can choose from the wide range of different Norton disc types available for an angle grinder.
Norton Multi-Material is one wheel that cuts it all. The disc can be used on iron, aluminium, steel, stone, copper, and even PVC. It won't load, removes light welds, burrs and excess material quickly and effectively.
But whilst it can cut multiple materials, it is not an expert. So if you have a lot of jobs to do with a particular material, such as some stainless steel, it's is much more effective to use a fully ceramic wheel like the Norton Quantum3. Whereas, for cutting aluminium, you should choose Norton Alu Aluminium Cutting Disc.
The specialised discs are specifically designed to cut specific materials. Therefore, they last longer and remove the material faster, providing optimum performance in all specific applications.
When choosing a product for your application, whether grinding or cutting discs, always look at the pictograms you can see on the disc. The short instructions show what the disc is designed for and where it performs at its best.
