Disappointingly, in this video I detail the rather rapid failure of the air con compressor, in particular the compressor clutch which burnt out on my 2008 Smart Fortwo 451 Passion 84 BHP.

Symptoms of failure included a howling noise from the compressor which varied in pitch with engine speed, followed by an acrid burning smell suggesting possible fire and subsequent total failure of the air conditioning system.
