Measured by the number and length of its slopes as well as the height differences and diversity of its runs, Ylläs is by far the largest ski resort in Lapland. Almost half of the 63 slopes are more than 1 km long and the eight longest slopes are up to two or three kilometers. Ylläs ski resort is located north of the Arctic Circle, close to the most popular national park in Finland. The magnificent fell landscape of this park can be seen from the top of Ylläs.

Ylläs Ski Resort Äkäslompolo has everything a skier needs. Ylläs Ski Resort is not only a paradise for slope skiers: in addition, it offers unique conditions for off-piste skiing and snowshoeing.

The Ylläs Ski Resort is divided into four ski areas: Varkaankuru, family slopes, front slopes, and Aurinkokuru, where you can find the quick 4-person chairlift Aurinko Express. There are slope options for all ages and skill levels. In addition, the extensive Ylläs cross-country skiing track network is accessible near the ski resort.
