This game is also known as FIGHTING FANTASY, but first things first-- THANK YOU to YouTube user ThisDJ for being my 1,000th subscriber! I thank all you folks for the subscriptions; it's not something I really keep on top of like most other YouTube users but it is nice to get some attention, and I appreciate all the (civil) comments, which I try to answer when I can. This is a rather blah vs. fighting game in which you can play one player solo vs. 8 mostly beast-like fighters or you can play one player vs. a second player in a one-fight match. The winner gets to continue on (with some extra gold to spend at a weapons shop) and the loser must spend a credit for a rematch. The 8 enemy fighters can be unlocked 3 at a time (defeat that group to face more), up till the 7th fighter, who you must beat to unlock the 8th and final enemy. Your fighter begins with a long sword, which can be used even after you purchase new weapons at the shop (like a hammer for 800, a battle axe at 800 and a halberd for 3,000, as well as a potion that gives you a longer life bar for 500 and a pendant for a total life refill at 3,500). The game is kind enough to tell you how much each weapon will cause damage to whichever enemy you're about to face. But the game requires a great deal of patience, as you must often wait for an opening or risk getting smacked around by the enemy. The enemies are CAWNUS the Medusa (easiest, just jump in and jump attack, then back off and repeat-- its dangers are its sword slide attack and its tail whip), GRAN the Gargoyle (he can fly about-- don't let him swoop down on you-- and he can fire some orb at you that boomerangs back), and NORFOLK the Lizard Man (he has a shield to limit damage until you knock it off him, and he also has a sword; I like the hammer against him). After beating all 3 you can then face the column of enemies on the far right on the stage select screen. These enemies are: SHARON (!) the dragon (jump attack with a strong weapon then back off, avoiding its damaging breath and tail whip), DALNOA the Scorpion Man (can paralyze you temporarily with poison and has a trident), and SOLOMON the wizard (very strong spells, but jump high and down-thrust with a strong weapon directly on his head). After beating all these you face CHARRY & STEVE (!), twin assassins (VERY tough; they can block many attacks and like to charge or stand on each others' shoulders and launch a jump attack). Lastly you will face PON the giant. He is SUPER tough and his far-reaching mace attack (as well as a bull charge) really hurts! If you were somehow able to purchase any pendants you will stand a much better chance, as running out of life will cause the pendant to refill it. It might not be a bad idea to get a friend to waste a quarter and let you beat his/her ass to give you some extra money to start the game, then after your first victory you can maybe purchase the awesome halberd! Other than that weapon this game is not awesome; the action is blah and the graphics aren't terribly impressive (especially some of the characters during the closing credits). The game maybe hints at a sequel after you beat the game but fortunately that hasn't materialized. Not the worst for sure, but not the best. Thanks again for the 1,000 subscriptions, folks!
