This video shows a 2 degree-of-freedom “plank” mass-interaction model that can be interacted with using a position-controlled mass. Depending on the excitation applied to the model, we can obtain a range of nonlinear “rattling” sound effects.
The model is created with the miPhysics library and simulated in real-time in the Processing environment. The sound output from the model is raw and unprocessed.
