Kaliyah Everett was sentenced to 37 years in prison for shooting and killing 19-year-old Tysaiah Donaldson during a botched 2015 robbery in Tampa.
During a sentencing hearing, family members were allowed to give victim impact statements. Tysaiah's mother explained how she struggled to pick a few special memories of her only son.
"When you took one of my kids, you took my life. That was my life," she sobbed.
