When you speak about singer/songwriters
it’s hard not to mention Cat Stevens.
A huge influence for us all.
His lyrics and melodies are so well accomplished.
So many great songs here, as the majestic Lady D’Arbanville and the beautiful Morning Has Broken.
It’s a great recording with some minor cuts in it.
So take a rest from the stressful world and enjoy this historic event.

Some words from the traders:
oeRay adds some more detail:
In Cleveland's Music Hall, October 30, 1972 I saw Ramblin Jack Elliott open for a new
songwriter, Cat Stevens. First up was Ramblin Jack Elliott, Jack came on stage as a solo
artist with only an acoustic guitar (D-28). After about 20 minutes, Jack got booed off
the stage mostly because the fans did not appreciate the man that got Mick & Keif to give
up arts and finance and take up music as a career. Jack is an American musical icon that
was not a pop artist like Cat Stevens. Apparently the fans that night in Cleveland came
to see Cat Stevens, not Ramblin Jack Elliott.
I sat 4th row center with my friend Linda and recorded the concert with a Sony cassette
recorder and a AKG D1000E mic in glorious mono. The Cleveland Music Hall shares a
stage with Cleveland's Public Hall. This night, the excitement was on the smaller
stage/hall. Cat Stevens started the concert off with a short video called,
"Teaser and the Firecat". When the video was over, Cat and a band of 8 musicians came
on stage and kept everyone on the edge of their chairs all night. Almost every song
performed either was or would be a hit. After taking a pause in his career being
dedicated to his religion he has returned to the road in the last few years.
I hope you enjoy this concert when Cat was Cat...
*******************
As Joe Ray mentions the show opened with an animated video of "Teaser And The Firecat",
we've had to omit the video as it contains the studio version of "Moonshadow". You can
find the animated short on youtube if you'd like to get a feel for the opening of the
show.
Also, don't be alarmed by the small file size, as stated it was recorded in mono and we
have maintained the original way it was captured. The tape ran fast and has been pitch
adjusted by -15 cents.
The release of the master gives us two additional songs not previously available,
the first "Miles From Nowhere" cuts off early. The second "Bitterblue" closes the show
and is a fantastic version available here for the first time.
Cat's newest LP "Catch Bull At Four" was released the same month as this show and the
show is divided pretty evenly between the new release and the previous three releases.
Some setlists have "(A Bit Of) Time" being played before "Fill My Eyes" but Cat
introduces "Fill My Eyes" as titled "(A Bit Of) Time To Fill My Eyes" then plays "Fill
My Eyes".
As an added bonus we've included a handful of rare photos Joe Ray took at the show!
This is a fantastic document of Cat's 1972 tour and comes highly recommended, once again
we are releasing in 24/96 and 16/44, a huge thanks to JoeRay for originally taping and
capturing the night so well and allowing his master to be released for the collecting
community to enjoy. We cannot thank him enough but please feel free to in the comments!
