👉Global peace index (GPI) is Produced by the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), the Global Peace Index (GPI) is the world’s leading measure of global peacefulness. This report presents the most comprehensive data-driven analysis to-date on trends in peace, its economic value, and how to develop peaceful societies. The Global Peace Index covers 99.7% of the world’s population, and is calculated using 23 qualitative and quantitative indicators from highly respected sources, and measures the state of peace across three domains:
1)The level of Societal Safety and Security
2)The extent of Ongoing Domestic and International Conflict
3)The degree of Militarization.

👉वैश्विक शान्ति सूचकांक(GPI) यह मापता है कि अमुक राष्ट्र या क्षेत्र कितना शान्तिपूर्ण है। यह शान्तिपूर्णता के आधार पर 163 स्वतन्त्र राज्यों और क्षेत्रों (दुनिया की आबादी का 99.7 प्रतिशत) को रैंक प्रदान करता है। पिछले एक दशक में GPI के मुताबिक वैश्विक हिंसा बढ़ी है शान्तिपूर्णता घटी है।
👉GPI में किसी देश का स्कोर जितना कम होता है, वह उतना ही शान्तिपूर्ण होता है।
👉यह सूचकांक ऑस्ट्रेलियाई थिंक टैंक इंस्टीट्यूट फॉर इकोनॉमिक्स एंड पीस (Australian think tank Institute for Economics & Peace) द्वारा जारी किया जाता है।
इसमें निम्नलिखित तीन प्रमुख शर्तों के अनुसार देशों की रैंकिंग की जाती है:
👉सामाजिक सुरक्षा और सुरक्षा का स्तर
👉देशों में होने वाले आंतरिक एवं बाह्य संघर्ष के आधार पर
👉सैन्यीकरण की सीमा के आधार पर
👉ग्लोबल पीस इंडेक्स (Global Peace Index) में भारत 163 देशों की सूची में 135वें स्थान पर है और पाकिस्तान 147वें स्थान पर है|
