Ontario Health Officials provided an update on the provincial COVID-19 response on Monday.
Dr. Barbara Yaffe, Ontario’s associate chief medical officer of health, said that the number of cases in the province nearly doubled in the past few days. As of Monday, there were 172 active cases in Ontario, with 32 new cases confirmed within the past 24 hours. A significant number of these cases were individuals exposed to the virus in the United States.
