My family and I don't drink dairy milk, so we are always drinking alternative milks. Almond milk is one of our favorites, especially homemade! It school's the store-bought kind.
Try to always buy organic nuts cause they're better for the environment and for you to eat.
Here's how I make almond milk (for full recipe and article visit www.bethanyhamilton.com):
Step #1 - Soak your almonds (6 hours).
Sometimes I'll even just munch on soaked almonds. The soaking activates them, making them more easily digestible.
Step #2 - Pour into blender with water.
Step #3 - Add ingredients (optional, adjust to taste):
• 3 pitted Dates
• 2 pinches Sea Salt
• 1/4 tsp Spice (cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice) or Vanilla extract
• If you want chocolate milk, add a tablespoon or so of Cacao Powder.
Step #4 - Blend until the almonds are completely broken down.
