Castleman Disease is sometimes referred to as a mix between an autoimmune disease, an infectious disease, and a cancer with symptoms that mimic many other disorders. Because Castleman disease is rare, healthcare professionals often correctly and rightfully suspect other diseases first. Diagnosis of exclusion is a slow and arduous process for patients and doctors alike.
Approximately 6,500 to 8,700 new cases of Castleman Disease are diagnosed every year. The subtype iMCD has up to 957 new cases per year.
Join us on a special Behind the Mystery as we meet with physician, scientist, patient, and best-selling author of Chasing My Cure David Fajgenbaum to learn more about Castleman Disease. Also, one patient's journey from facing his own mortality to finding hope through advocacy.
