In this video we make custom molded fiberglass flares FROM SCRATCH to fit huge wheels into the vented front fenders on Cory's jzx81. This is a long video, but there's a lot in here! With the steel flares already handling the Weds Cerberus 2 wheels in the back, we still had the daunting task of fitting similarly fat wheels up front. The jzx81 already has beautiful fiberglass fenders, so it made sense to keep them. The problem was they were way too small for the angle and wheel goals Cory had for this build. After considering a number of ways to make the fenders bigger, we decided that molding fiberglass flares to the existing fender was the best choice. We considered the option of buying some random pre-made flares, then molding those on, but who knows how well the flare shapes would match the back, and frankly we didn't want to wait. Considering that making our own mold and flares would cost next to nothing, and would match the rear flares for sure, that path was the clear winner. The steel flares we just built onto the rear of the car made a perfect plug, and we're beyond happy with the end result. Grab a snack and settle in for a long video that shows the whole process start to finish. It's worth it!
Thanks yet again to Cory for trusting us with his baby!
