In this video we will take a look at how to diagnose no video/black display screen issue. Recently I received a laptop with bad LCD screen. It appeared like the laptop was working, as I could hear Windows sounds when first turning on the computer. I was also able to get the image when connecting it to the external monitor. I appeared like the issue was clearly with the LCD screen, but it is not always the case. Before replacing the costly screen you may want to verify that there is no problems with motherboard or video card for onboard display.
There is a quick and easy test you can run on any Dell laptop that does exactly that. It runs LCD screen test that bypasses the motherboard.
