Children's Hospital Oakland is hosting its third annual St. Baldrick's Foundation head shaving fundraiser for pediatric cancer research. Volunteers young and old, male and female, will shave their heads to honor children who lose their hair as a result of chemotherapy, a treatment used to help fight cancer. Festivities are 4:30 to 8:30pm in Children's Hospital Oakland's Outpatient Center.
Every hour starting at 5 p.m., pediatric cancer survivors and their families will be honored with a special ceremony where they'll share their inspiring stories.
