Looking at some of the cars I see at shows, I think subtlety is a lost art. Then something like this amazing 1968 Camaro shows up and my faith is renewed. At first, it merely looks like a nicely finished red coupe, but as you look closer, you notice that there are a lot of neat tricks that really make it stand out. And then you open the hood and see the 396 big block, and the beautiful interior and it keeps getting better and better. It's not often that we are able to refer to a bright red Camaro as a sleeper, but there's definitely more here than meets the eye.
For many Camaro fans, the pure lines of the '67-68 cars are as good as Camaros get, and I tend to agree. The bodywork is nicely done, the gaps are good, and the lines are straight. The paint is clean, and the black nose stripe adds just enough detail to make it stand out from the crowd. The Camaro script emblems on the front and sides, the 396 badges on the front fenders, and the SS badges on the front grille and rear give this an authentic SS look. Both front and rear chrome bumpers are beautiful, as well as the stainless trim. This is one straight, clean and rust free Camaro!
Lift the hood and check out the fresh paint job on that big block. This is one beautiful motor! The 396 has plenty of power. There's a Quadrajet carb underneath the chrome air cleaner. The list of new parts is long, including the radiator and fan shroud, battery, alternator, master cylinder, MSD wires, MDS coil and MSD distributor cap. The heater core and components are hooked up, and the car has had a recent alignment. Power steering and power drum brakes makes this Camaro a pleasure to drive. This is no junkyard dog, and it's impressive as hell the first time you open the hood at a show.
What else but a 4-speed Muncie would you expect to be living behind that big block? This Camaro is a blast to drive guys. A 12 bolt rear and new stock style dual exhaust system with a single muffler lives out back. There is a newer gas tank, new springs and new flexlines for the brakes. The floorboards are solid, with no patches or rust, and a fresh coat of paint. The rockers are solid, and the pinch welds and spot welds are still visible. The front suspension has been rebuilt, all of the bushings and ball joints are in great shape throughout. This is one beautiful undercarriage! Sitting at all four corners are Corvette Rally wheels.
Inside, you will find the beautifully done black interior. The door panels and seats are very nicely done, and the carpets and headliner are just as nice. In between the bucket seats is a fresh console featuring a set of aftermarket SunPro gauges. Black seatbelts for all tie it together with the exterior. Out back the solid trunk has been nicely painted.
This car is very well built and carries big horsepower in a very clean package. The motor, solid, straight body and subtlety of the exterior work will win this car a lot of fans at shows. It's an absolute blast to drive with the big block, 4-speed combination. Fast, cool, and functional, this car has everything going for it. Call today! 7 Days a Week 248-974-9513
