Yacouba OUEDRAOGO came to Burkina Faso from Cote d'Ivoire to continue his university studies, but things did not go as planned. He had to quit his studies and work to be financially stable. After working for a few years as a security guard, he made some savings and opened his restaurant.

Thanks to his courage and perseverance, today he is the founder of the restaurant “Chez Socrate”, where he sells attiéké (cassava couscous) with tuna, commonly called “Garba”. This activity enables him to be financially independent and employ other young people.

"You don't need to have millions. Even with 50,000 FCFA, 100,000 FCFA, you can create your business. If you have invested a little and that afterwards everything is fine, now you can seek financing and expand. So, to start a business, you don't necessarily need to have a lot of funding, a lot of money," says Yacouba OUEDRAOGO.
