Airbus said in its broadcast that the RTAF selected this latest generation of helicopters in February 2020, as part of its pilot training improvement programme.
This H135 will join the H225M fleet, and is dedicated to a variety of training missions, including ab-initio training .
“We are proud to have delivered the first shipment of this high-performance H135 to the RTAF. We are fully confident that this helicopter will become an important part of the world-class training for the RTAF,” said Pierre Andre, Head of Airbus in Thailand.

As part of a dedicated support program, a Technical Representative will be placed on RTAF operations for an initial two year period to ensure the availability of this fleet.
Airbus will also provide a Helionix state-of-the-art simulator to support the RTAF's ab-initio mission.
With more than 130 units operated for training missions by military agencies worldwide, the three-ton class H135 is the global benchmark for training helicopters, with over 400,000 military training flight hours.
Equipped with today's state-of-the-art technology, including Airbus' advanced Helionix avionics suite, the lightweight twin-engine H135 offers optimal safety for basic and advanced mission training, while also providing a platform for pilots to make the easy and safe transition to more advanced helicopters.
