Contrary to what certain popular martial arts youtubers have told you, you can actually hit a heavy bag hard without boxing gloves.
Gloves and wrist wraps allow a striker to punch hard objects (like the bones of human skull) significantly harder without breaking their hands, cutting heir skin, or getting a tooth embedded in their fist. Boxing gloves are, in fact, weapons as I demonstrated in this video: [ Ссылка ]
That being said, a punching bag is stuffed with tightly packed rags, not bones. A heavy bag displaces and deforms upon impact (unlike the steel pipe I used in the previous demo or a human skull) thus allowing an experienced striker to punch at full power without risk of injury.
That being said, bag gloves and wraps can be an important training tool to allow even experienced strikers to get more rounds on the heavy bag than they otherwise would, as well as a useful tool for inexperienced strikers to avoid hypertension of their wrists upon impact (the most common heavy bag related injury among new students of the striking arts)
