Last year, it was announced that Jamaica would be going back to the IMF in 2023 for another loan.
Now we know that Jamaica and the IMF don’t have the best relationship, but it’s seeming like things could be better this time around.
For one, the Resilience and Sustainability Fund has some pretty lenient (for the IMF) terms. It has a low interest rate of 3.8% and a 20 year repayment period.
And recently, we had a visit from an IMF team who were very impressed with Jamaica’s economic progress!
