In 2012, the TKA Theatre Company produced a middle school musical "Annie," starring eighth grader Summer McCarty in the lead role. Summer went on to star in many King's mainstage productions, including "Funny Girl" as Fanny Brice, before graduating in 2017. In 2021, #TKAtv produced a sing-a-long version of this fan favorite.
