Panama's Beauty #13 La Silampa, is the name of the Ghost of Panama's "Juliet", a beautiful young maiden forbidden to marry her true love, a soldier, by her dad who killed him with his sword, leaving her forever grieving in this valley with it's many beautiful waterfalls & pools, and well, let's just say she's also very angry! Her anger can be assuaged only with True love that runs it's normal course - unlike her sad love story. So she's disarmed by watching other young maidens Fall in love, Get and accept Proposals, then have Weddings and all the normal things that follow - all of which she never had. So it is that to calm her Ghost and make her happy, this became a place of Love, Proposals and even Weddings . This story is strikingly similar to that of Africa's Snow-White which started out (at age 16) next to just such a waterfall and pool, in Africa, with one important difference ... Before her Mother could deliver the final death-blow to her young romance, the young Elizabeth ran away from her mother in Canada back to her true love, and then ran far, far away with her Nicholas. So they got married and they've lived happily ever after in Panama, next to just such a pool, and often walk to the nearby twin falls named "Rome & Juliet" where they relive their love-story, still together 49 years later. Theirs is not a sad, unrequited love! Instead the ghost of Elizabeth's very angry mother still roams in cold, faraway Canada, forever trying - but failing (not knowing where to find her) to get ultimate revenge on her daughter for successfully resisting her cruel plans to murder Elizabeth & Nicholas' young love! So her hate is unrequited - for which we're very thankful! (True story) Enjoy watching this video. It's just one of 1,000's of beautiful waterfalls & pools that people love to visit (many do on weekends, but if you visit on weekdays, it's likely you'll have the pool to yourselves) in Panama. The Elizabeth & Nicholas of the novels live inside a National park, in the mountains (altitude 3,000ft, Temp 65-78F year round) right next to (70ft from) one of these beautiful pools and (400ft from) another even bigger pool, so they can always swim in their own Turquoise or Emerald green pool, every day, most often all alone - and they often do! On Sundays they'll have company there - but even that's fun to watch, as lovers and little families enjoy Panama's natural beauty - and always without Winter! Anyone who's read the Africa's Snow-White novels, will understand why this video, featuring just one of Panama's many beautiful waterfalls and pools, is so meaningful. In 2006, after 50yrs of living in Africa and N. America, we eloped (again) For 14y we've lived a wonder-filled life in Panama. Time to share Panama's beauty with others who'd never have guessed what's to be found here! This is the 13th of 21 videos (10 more will soon be ready to publish) that showcase the poignant beauty of Panama - which few people know much about or have ever even visited. Keep an eye open for the Sequel to this Video ... Soon we'll publish #14 "The Wedding" which will take us all back to this beautiful pool and waterfall (La Silampa) for a Wedding ... but (trust us) it's one like none other! Remember to SUBSCRIBE so you'll not miss #14 or any other new Videos!
Often people say "I'd like a Fairy-tale life!" But they forget, fairy-tales aren't easy-going, cozy little stories -they're sad, dangerous, tough stories, but fortunately they have happy endings ... So too did ours. For that we're truly grateful and we both thank God, often!
