Sometimes we take a break from exploring things on the surface of the Earth to dig into its depths. When you were a child, you might have imagined being able to dig clear through the core of the Earth and pop out of the other side. Well, we hate to break it to you, but it doesn’t seem like it’s quite possible to do that just yet. So how deep can you actually dig into the Earth? We’ll learn about the different layers of the Earth and find out what progress has been made to get deeper into it. Let’s just say that there is a whole lot we can learn from these holes that take no shortage of time to create. Scientists must deal with seismic activity, blisteringly hot temperatures, and unexpected surprises as they try to continually dig deeper for answers.
