A reading of three melancholic poems by the legendary Japanese poet, Ono no Komachi. Ono no Komachi was a poet during the Heian Period and was renowned for not only her incredible poetry skills but also for her beauty. She was considered one of the six best poets in the early Heian period by later poetry anthologists and was included in Fujiwara no Kintou's list of thirty-six "immortal" poets. Because there is little information about Ono no Komachi besides her poetry, it is difficult to know specific details about her life.
