Catching trout on nymphs in February is not easy, but it can be done with some consistency. In the winter months, trout tend to stay low in the water column. Target slow and deep water types for more success. Use simple patterns and make sure to get them down to the trout. I often will combine heavy beaded flies along with split shot to get deep and slow the drift down.
