Bitter substances or chemicals may be helpful despite their unpleasant taste. One such example is denatonium benzoate, the most bitter compound in the world, also known with the trademark of Bitrex. It was accidentally discovered in Scotland and proved its importance in saving the lives of kids and pet animals, along with several other benefits. Denatonium Saccharide is another variant of denatonium.
