The Oak and the Ash (Roud Folk Song Index #1367) is an English folk song dating from at least the Victorian era. It tells the story of a woman from northern England moving to London and pining after her homeland. Some claim that the song is Northumbrian, though the lyrics of most versions name Westmorland as the childhood home of the woman.
